The Rev. Deven Hubert

Rector

Hello.  I’m Deven Hubert, the rector of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church.  If you are visiting our website because you are interested in finding a Church in the Fairport area, I hope that you will come to visit us soon.

I've been at St. Luke’s since 2004 and love being a part of this faith community.  I graduated with my Masters Degree in Divinity from Yale Divinity School in 1982 and have a keen interest in spirituality, faith development, outreach to the wider world, and social justice issues.

I am married to Fritz Koehler.  We have a grown blended family which includes Fritz’s daughter, Aimee, and her husband, Joe, and their daughter, Abigail; my daughter, Olivia, and her husband, Sam, and my son, Zach.  We enjoy getting to see our granddaughter and her parents in nearby Buffalo.  To see my children, we travel to California.

St. Luke’s mission statement says that , “We are an open, Christ- centered community, caring for each other, and doing God’s work in the world.”  We strive as a group of people to keep growing in how we live out that mission statement. We welcome people of all races, sexual orientations and socioeconomic backgrounds to worship with us.  We care for each other in times of need or crisis through prayers, visits, cards, meals and other expressions of love.  We reach out to the world through tutoring at School 9 in the city of Rochester, making quilts for children in the NICU at Strong Hospital, contributing items to the Perinton Food Shelf, providing Christmas baskets to families in need, partnering with a school in India to provide scholarships for children and other outreach endeavors.

We hope that you will join us for a worship service or another activity listed on our calendar of events.  We would love to have you live out your faith journey with us.

God’s Peace,

Deven
