SUNDAY MINISTRIES
Also known as Worship Ministries, these areas allow volunteers to enhance our Sunday Worship with their talents and service.
ACOLYTES
Adults and youth are welcome to join the team of volunteer acolytes who serve at the altar during Sunday worship. Youth acolyte the first Sunday of the month. Adult acolytes will be scheduled approximately once every four weeks, not including Youth Acolyte Sunday.
LECTORS & INTERCESSORS
Lectors read the Old Testament Lesson, Psalm for the day, and New Testament Lesson during either the 8am or 10am service. Intercessors read the Prayers of the People during each service as well. Lectors and Intercessors are scheduled approximately once every five weeks.
LAY MINISTERS OF COMMUNION
Lay Ministers of Communion assist the Rector during communion. They are also eligible to be trained to take communion to the sick or homebound.
GREETERS & USHERS
Greeters/Ushers are available before and after the 10am service to welcome visitors, guests, and newcomers. Following the service, they are available to take guests on a tour, invite them to join us for coffee hour, and to answer questions. Greeters/Ushers also distribute bulletins, gather offerings and bring them to the altar, and guide communicants to altar during communion.
MONEY COUNTERS
Money Counters are two people who record, tally, and deposit money that comes in to St. Luke's each week from pledged, plate cash, and non-pledge income. Money Counters are scheduled approximately once a month.
ALTAR GUILD
Altar Guild volunteers are always welcome to prepare for worship services and to care for the vessels, linens and appointments of the Altar, chancel, font, and sacristy. Members serve on a rotating basis.
CHOIR
Come make a joyful noise unto the Lord! We share our gift of song with the congregation weekly at the 10am service. We meet Wednesday evenings at 7:30pm to practice from September to June.
COFFEE HOUR
Following the 8am service on the 1st Sunday of the month and the 10am service every Sunday, we welcome parishioners to join us for coffee and light refreshments. Those who volunteer with coffee hour prepare and serve coffee, tea, juice, a snack, and clean-up. During the summer, we have lemonade on the lawn.
